Outside of his professional career, Zander is deeply committed to community leadership and philanthropy in the Greater Springfield area. He serves on the Board of Directors for NEBA, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals with disabilities and other barriers to achieve full community inclusion through sustainable career opportunities. Additionally, he sits on the Board of Directors for the Springfield Rotary, working to address local humanitarian needs and support community growth.

Zander has been happily married to his wife, Willow DiMare, for 25 years. They reside in Springfield, Massachusetts, where they are active members of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church. Together, they love watching their family grow, which now includes four grandchildren and their two dogs.
