Barry Selman is a financial services professional with Charter Oak Financial, whose proud history dates back to 1886. Barry focuses his practice on the risk management, insurance planning, business planning and student loan refinancing needs of families, individuals and business owners. He also works with healthcare professionals such as: doctors, psychologists and other professionals in the field.

Barry’s professional career started at the New York City Department of Education where he was a certified kindergarten through eighth-grade educator for 15 years. Prior to joining Charter Oak, Barry owned a small transportation business before moving into a role as an executive chauffeur. He earned master’s degrees in both educational leadership and elementary education from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY. He also holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, CT, where he was captain of the men’s tennis team.

Along with spending time with his family, Barry can often be found rooting on one of his favorite sports teams: the New York Giants, New York Mets and New York Knicks.

Barry and his wife live in the Forest Hills area of New York City with their two sons.
