Bill McQuaid took over as General Agent of The Piedmont Group of Atlanta in 2010, and is happy to once again call Atlanta home. Bill started his financial services career in Atlanta in 1993, was promoted to Assistant General Agent of the General Agency of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual) in Virginia in 1999, and later was charged with running Legacy Financial Group, a General Agency of MassMutual based in Providence, Rhode Island. Under Bill’s leadership, the Providence agency experienced rapid growth and expansion of over 150% and won the MassMutual Chairmen’s Trophy in both 2008 and 2009. In 2010, Bill was asked to come back to Atlanta where he started his career and become General Agent of the MassMutual General Agency in Atlanta.

Since 2009, The Piedmont Group of Atlanta, LLC, has experienced explosive growth. The Firm has had 4 consecutive years of double digit growth. During that span, the Firm’s revenue has grown 234%. In addition, they have won the prestigious MassMutual Chairman’s Gold Trophy in 2011, 2012 and 2013. They also rank in the Top 20 in all of MassMutual in the development of new associates.

Entrepreneurship runs in Bill’s veins – he worked in the family business before deciding to pursue his own venture. His natural inclination to develop people and businesses led to a career as a financial advisor, sales manager, and now as the General Agent of the Atlanta-based Piedmont Group of Atlanta, LLC.

In the role of General Agent, Bill leads mentors and motivates a growing team of financial services professionals and staff. His strength lies in his ability to spot talented individuals and to provide them with the leadership, management support and training necessary to reach their potential. Bill attributes his success to hard work and to truly loving what he does.

Bill is a member of the Atlanta Chapter of NAIFA, AALU, GAMA, and St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church. He enjoys golf, coaching youth sports and reading. He and his wife Kathleen reside in Roswell with their four children.
