Brett Humphrey specializes in helping business owners maximize the value of their business before a sale and preserve the wealth they create afterward.

Working alongside business owners, their CPAs, attorneys, and investment bankers, Brett collaborates with clients to evaluate tax, business-transition, estate, and financial-planning considerations associated with the sale of a business. His background in private equity gives him a perspective on the questions buyers ask and the decisions that can materially impact a business owner’s outcome years before a sale.

Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Brett is a proud lifelong Oklahoman. Before becoming a financial advisor, his career included leadership roles in private equity and Oklahoma politics, experiences that shaped the strategic approach he brings to advising entrepreneurs today.

Having lost his mother at age 17 and his father in 2025, Brett understands firsthand that life’s biggest financial decisions often arrive unexpectedly. That perspective fuels his passion for helping families prepare long before they need to rely on their plan.

Brett previously served as Director of Black Gold Private Equity Group, Campaign Manager for Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor, and Campaign Director for Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt.

A graduate of Oklahoma State University’s Spears School of Business, Brett received the Raymond D. Thomas Award as the university’s top graduating business student in 2016. He currently serves as President of the Spears School of Business Alumni Board.

Brett and his wife, Erin, live in Tulsa with their son, Eli.
