Brian Ruff is the Assistant General Agent and the Life Insurance and Disability Income Insurance Specialist for MassMutual South Carolina. He joined MassMutual South Carolina in October of 1977 after graduating from The Citadel with a degree in Business Administration. As the Assistant General Agent, Brian is responsible for overseeing agency operations, and training and developing representatives. Through his product knowledge, he trains all agents in South Carolina and North Carolina on life insurance and disability income insurance. Through Brian’s leadership, the Agency management team provides expert support to all our associates.

Brian holds the FINRA Series 7 (General Securities Representative) and the FINRA Series 24 (General Securities Principal) registration, making him one of four Registered Principals in the Agency. He also holds his Series 6 and Series 63. Brian has been an Investment Advisor representative with MML Investors Services, LLC, since 2006.

Brian was the first Citadel athlete to be named to the Associated Press’ First Team All-American for his success in football. Brian is also the first Citadel football player to have his jersey retired.
