Carmen believes that knowledge is the key to a successful financial future. She began her financial planning career in 2000 and her commitment to excellence is evident in her early achievement of the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER (CFP®) designation in 2007, followed by the Chartered Federal Employee Benefits Consultant℠ (ChFEBC℠) designation in 2014.

Carmen prides herself in educating clients and empowering them to make prudent financial decisions. Seeing the results of her advice and knowing that her work is positively impacting her clients’ financial future brings her the most satisfaction. She enjoys teaching retirement planning classes and has spoken at a number of reputable, well-known companies in the following industries: electricity and natural gas, specialty coffee, data storage, and blockchain/cryptocurrency. She is fluent in Chinese (Cantonese) and proficient in conversational Italian.

Clients describe Carmen as anything but boring. She is easy and unintimidating to work with. Her upbeat personality makes it fun to tackle the most complex financial matters. 

A fun fact about Carmen: She once considered a career as a chef and nearly attended culinary school in 2002. Other than her love for cooking and baking, Carmen enjoys traveling, photography and practicing Italian whenever she can. She and her husband live in Berkeley with their beloved dog, a blue merle Australian Shepherd named Daisy.
