Professional Story

 Doug Shannon is a Partner at WestPoint Financial Group.  He provides objective and customized insurance and investment strategies to help meet the financial needs of his clients. 


Doug is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

Prior to joining WestPoint Financial Group, Doug was a Wealth Management Advisor at Northwestern Mutual for seven years.

Doug was recognized as a member of the 2015, Greater Peoria, 40 Leaders Under Forty class sponsored by iBi Magazine.  He currently serves on the PTO as the Fundraising Chair at Kellar Primary School. Doug has earned the following designations: Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC, 2015), Certified Financial Planner Professional (CFP, 2013), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU, 2014), and Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP, 2017).

In his free time, Doug enjoys sports, games, movies and attending his children’s activities.
