Professional Story

Felix Malitsky brings a deep sense of purpose, discipline, and optimism to everything he builds. An immigrant to the United States, Felix credits his drive to the opportunities this country has provided and to a belief that success is best measured by the impact you make on others.

Felix is the Founder of Fortis Companies and the Founder and CEO of Fortis Lux Financial, which he established in 2016. He set out to build more than a traditional financial firm, with a vision centered on creating a platform where ambitious professionals could grow, collaborate, and serve clients with clarity, integrity, and a long term focus. “We are a firm built by people who want to help others move forward,” he says. “Whether it is our advisors, our team members, or our clients, the goal is the same: confidence, opportunity, and sustainable success.”

Felix believes the future of the financial services industry is delivering more advice with fewer people. This philosophy emphasizes deeper relationships, thoughtful planning, and a family office style experience that supports clients through every stage of life.

Felix grew up in suburban Connecticut, where he developed a strong work ethic and competitive spirit through athletics. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in History and Economics from the University of Connecticut, a foundation that shaped both his analytical mindset and his appreciation for long term perspective. He entered the financial services industry in 2002, where his ability to develop people and build teams led to senior leadership roles at American Express Financial Advisors and MetLife. Those experiences ultimately led him to found Fortis Lux Financial.

A combat veteran, Felix believes leadership is rooted in service, accountability, and trust. This philosophy has helped shape the culture at Fortis Lux Financial, contributing to strong advisor retention and a collaborative, growth oriented environment focused on delivering comprehensive guidance to clients.

Felix has been widely recognized within the financial services industry for his leadership and performance, while maintaining a strong commitment to giving back, particularly to organizations that support veterans and their families. This values driven approach has helped define the culture at Fortis Lux Financial, which was recognized by Crain’s New York Business as one of New York City’s 100 Best Places to Work.

Today, Felix resides in Connecticut with his wife, Donatella, and their twins. Outside of work, he values time with family above all else and can often be found watching his kids play sports, staying active through workouts, or spending time with the family’s French bulldog, Louie.
