    There is a lot I can tell you about my 9+ years of experience and my knowledge in this industry, but why don’t I just tell you why I care – about everyone I meet? You see, I come from a family that was never financially secure, not in my own home or within my extended family. Buckle up for this one…

    I had a grandmother who retired in 2007 just to go back to work for another seven years after the financial meltdown in 2008-09 out of fear of outliving her savings. My father had life insurance and let it lapse and completely liquidated his 401K so he could save more money to buy a house. In 2015 he sustained an injury which forced him into retirement about 10 years early – with no retirement savings or disability insurance to make up the lost income. In June 2022 he went into cardiac arrest during a routine procedure. Thankfully, he was revived and recovered, but only after that, did he finally become open to the idea of life insurance. My little brother was diagnosed with cancer in his senior year of college. Thankfully, again, he is fully recovered and is in remission. But there’s always the question, “what if it didn’t turn out that way?” And he never had life insurance or disability insurance either.

    I care because I saw firsthand how poor, little, and no financial planning can impact a family. It doesn’t impact just parents. It impacts the kids too. I came into this industry with the goal of making sure that no one who works with me ever has to worry about whether or not their family or their business would suffer financially if something happened to them.
