John DeMaria is a financial advisor with Charter Oak Financial, whose proud history dates back to 1886. John focuses his practice on the employee benefit, qualified plans, financial planning, estate planning, life insurance and investment needs of individuals, families and business owners.

John has been in the financial services industry for the last 50 years. He began his career with an Albany-based agency of MassMutual, then-known as the Connecticut Mutual Life Insurance Company before joining Charter Oak in 1996. John, a proud alumnus of the University of Scranton, furthered his knowledge in the field by earning his professional designations of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) from the American College. In addition, he earned a Certification for Long Term-Care (CLTC®) from the CLTC Board of Standards.

Outside of the office, John is involved with many organizations. He is a current member of the Capital District Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors, Southern Saratoga County Chamber of Commerce as well as a member of the Economic and Government Affairs Committee (EGAC) and Wildwood School’s Planned Giving Council. In addition, John serves as a trustee of Wildwood’s Supplemental Needs Trust. He is also the past president of the Fulton-Montgomery Life Underwriters, the Eastern New York Chapter of Chartered Life Underwriters and Chartered Financial Consultants, and the Estate Planning Council of Eastern New York.

In his free time, John enjoys playing golf and tennis, reading, and traveling, especially to his timeshare in Aruba. He resides in Clifton Park, NY with his wife, Christine.
