John directs the Retirement Plans Department of a local agency of MassMutual. He has specialized with 401ks and other qualified retirement plans for over 30 years.
John represents businesses and non-profit organizations across the country, providing plan design support and Fiduciary investment advice to employers. Distinctive employee education and engagement tools highlight the foundation of the team’s mission to champion participants’ retirement readiness.
As an undergraduate, John represented The Vanguard Group of Investment Companies, servicing small business retirement plans. He began his full-time career with MassMutual in 1987, and since that time, has remained as a specialist, supporting a multitude of Trustees, CPAs, and advisors.
John has attained the professional designations of Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor (CPFA®) and Chartered Retirement Plan Specialist (CRPS®). Additionally, John has earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®) designation. AIF designates guide Fiduciaries in their stewardship capacity to implement a prudent investment process for the Plan and employees. He lectures regularly on retirement planning to institutions and professional groups within the industry and teaches continuing education classes on a variety of retirement plan topics.
Giving back to the community, John is exceptionally engaged through hands-on construction with Corazón, a non-profit organization that provides shelter, creates educational opportunities, and develops self-sufficient, safe, and nurturing communities.
John is also actively involved with HIAS, extending vital services to sanctioned refugees and asylum seekers around the world, advocating for their fundamental basic human rights, and beginning resettlement to rebuild their lives.
