Kenneth Baron is a Financial Planner with Center for Wealth Preservation. His mission is to help his clients create a path to financial success, helping them to diminish risks while building wealth. Ken works with business owners, corporate executives, and retirees who appreciate the value of combining investment, tax and wealth protection planning to create a roadmap that families can follow to reach their goals. With an understanding that each individual and family has different needs and goals, he takes all aspects of his clients’ personal and financial lives into account as he provides them with an ongoing planning process that puts them in an optimal position.
Ken graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1999 with a bachelor’s degree in Finance. After college, he joined Fidelity Investments as a Mutual Fund and Trust Accountant. In 2003 he acquired the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) designation before moving to New York City and joining an Investment Advisory group at Smith Barney as a Portfolio Manager. In 2007, Ken earned the Certified Financial Planner (CFP®) designation.
In 2007 Ken’s team left Smith Barney and went to Bear Stern’s where he had a front-row seat to the 2008/2009 financial meltdown. It was at that time he realized there was much more to financial planning than simply managing investments for clients. In 2011 Ken made a professional decision to start his own financial planning practice and joined Strategies for Wealth, the #1 Guardian Life Insurance Company agency, in New York City. During his time at Guardian, he expanded his expertise in Insurance, Estate, Business and Retirement Planning while offering comprehensive financial planning services to his clients.
In 2016 Ken moved his practice to the Center for Wealth Preservation on Long Island so he could be closer to home. He resides in Plainview, Long Island with his wife Jayme and daughters Samantha and Lily. In his spare time, Ken enjoys playing golf, playing cards and backgammon with his daughters and watching Sir David Attenborough documentaries.
Ken also recently obtained his Retirement Income Certified Professional (RICP) designations through The American College of Financial Services in 2019.
