For Marilyn, it’s always been about teamwork. Since joining then Connecticut Mutual in 1973, now Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual), she’s worked closely with clients to deliver solutions that mitigate risk.
For Marilyn, success in serving clients is based on understanding the underlying issue that is driving each client versus what’s readily apparent. “My approach relies heavily on intuition,” explains Marilyn. “I believe in asking in-depth questions and serving as a resource. Product sales are secondary. I believe clients can sense my sincere desire to develop a strong professional relationship and present effective solutions.”
Over the years, Marilyn has developed a strong following with people who are looking for and value a trusted professional. SHe works closely with business owners, individuals, households and professionals of all kinds. Adds Marilyn, “I’ve enjoyed quite a bit of success in working with career-oriented women, single or widowed women, empty nesters and gay couples.” Her best fit is a client who is a proactive decision maker committed to positioning his or her financial life.
The common denominator in Marilyn’s success: Intuition, judgment and balance in everything she does. She revels in helping clients develop confidence in and understanding of their financial picture. With more than 30 years in business, Marilyn enjoys a large following. Adds Marilyn, “My clients know that I care and that they can call me with questions or concerns any time.”
Personal and Professional Affiliations
Marilyn’s community involvements are diverse and include membership in Rochester Rotary, volunteering for Literacy Volunteers, participating in Junior Achievement in the City of Rochester schools, and hosting the Saturday Women’s Fellowship through St. Thomas Episcopal Church.
Professionally, Marilyn is a member of Society of Financial Service Professionals, Estate Planning Council of Rochester and Rochester Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors. In between, when time permits, Marilyn enjoys gardening, cooking and crafts. Marilyn is widowed and has two grown children and two grandchildren.
