Nhan joined MassMutual in October 2015 after a 12-year career with New York Life Insurance Company, where he last served as Senior Partner with the company.  Prior to joining New York Life, he worked in the high-tech industry as a software engineer. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from UCLA in 2000.

During his career at New York Life, Nhan received many accolades. He was promoted to Partner in 2007. He achieved top 50 Partners of the Year of 2008, 2009, and 2010 then in 2011 he was promoted again to Senior Partner. In 2013 he represented the Senior Partners as a member of MPAC (Managing Partner Advisory Council). Nhan was awarded Agent of the Year for the Bay Area in 2004, 2005, and 2006. While New York Life offered Nhan many substantial opportunities around the country, he made the decision to join MassMutual to be a Managing Partner running the Silicon Valley office in San Jose, California. He found MassMutual offered potential for him as a leader and mentor in the industry.
