My name is Prakash “PK” Chandiramani and I am a Managing Associate and Registered Representative at MassMutual Greater Houston. Born in Hong Kong into an Indian family, raised in St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands, I have seen many different parts of the world. As I child I was very involved in my family business, which was a jewelry store in Virgin Islands and loved the way my father and everyone in the store sold to people. Having someone new come into the store from different parts of the world just fascinated me. It was then that I decided to be part of the family business. I attended college in Rhode Island and graduated in 2001. I headed back home and joined the family business but destiny had something else in store for me. I was doing well at work but there was something missing. With cost of living rising, the internet business effecting retail and the changes in market made things tough. I want to retire one day and thought if I stay on this path I will always be working. I knew what was lacking in our industry and the lack of planning would affect us if we didn’t make changes. I left the family business and moved to Houston with desire to start a new path in life.
