Throughout his 41 plus years in Orem, he has been involved in the Boy Scouts of America at the unit, district and council level. In his spare time, Spencer finds relaxation working in his vegetable garden and yard.
Spencer began building his financial services practice in 1979 and has served families with their financial planning needs. In addition to earning the professional designation of Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), he holds the designation of Chartered Special Needs Consultant (ChSNC) from The American College and is working to help families with children with disabilities and other special needs. His practice helps families to connect with resources in their communities and to include the needs of family members with special needs in their family planning. This process helps them understand and utilize estate and retirement planning concepts, special needs trusts, government programs and financial strategies in developing a life care plan that will enable the family member with a disability to obtain the best quality of life possible for his or her whole life.
Spencer and his wife Jane live in Orem, Utah, and have seven children and twenty-five grandchildren. With two grandchildren in the autism spectrum and one with Down syndrome, Spencer understands the complexities of balancing the financial planning needs of a family and the raising of children, especially children who need special care.
