Tim Choi joined GoldBook Financial as Managing Director in July 2026 and is based in Los Angeles, California.

With more than 20 years of leadership experience in the financial services industry, Tim specializes in recruiting, developing, and empowering financial advisors to build successful, client-focused practices. At GoldBook Financial, he leads strategic growth initiatives within the Korean and broader Asian-American markets, supporting advisors across Los Angeles, Costa Mesa, La Jolla, and Scottsdale.

Tim began his career with a nationally recognized mutual insurance and financial services company, where he quickly advanced into management and was recognized as the top-performing Sales Manager in his national management class during his first year. He later led a successful market expansion in New Jersey, building high-performing teams and developing future leaders before returning to Southern California in 2018 to continue mentoring advisors and driving growth.

Known for his collaborative leadership style and commitment to advisor success, Tim has built a reputation for developing talent, fostering strong relationships, and delivering sustainable growth throughout his career.

Tim earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, and 63 securities registrations, as well as Life, Accident, and Health insurance licenses.

Outside of work, Tim enjoys golfing and spending time with family and friends.
